Home Remedies for Insect Bite and Rashes

Insect bites are very common. They can be due to bees, mosquitoes, some flies, wasps, spider etc. Whenever I roam around in garden in the evening or at the terrace, I will get one such insect bite. Some of them are tiny dots like and has no major problem but some can have severe itching and redness with some fluid oozing out. So, how to treat the insect bites or what to do to cure the insect bites at home. I used to think the same as the redness on the skin is itching, painful and ugly looking.

We will share some home remedies to heal the insect bites faster and effectively.

Home remedies for insect bite and rashes at home

First of all for any insect bite, the first thing you should do is to wash the area of skin with a medicated soap. Soaps infused with Neem, Holy basil, tea tree oil are good. In case, the insect bite is severe which means if it’s a bee sting then take out the sting first and follow the natural remedies.

1. Neem

Neem also known as Margosa posses both antibacterial and anti-fungal features. Neem makes a helpful treatment for insect bite to treat the swelling, itching and stopping the infection. Rub crushed neem leaves over the insect bite and leave it. Try this 2 times in a day to get the insect bite get healed quickly. applying some diluted neem oil also helps.

2. Tea tee oil

Tea tree oil is highly beneficial in getting rid of the bacterial and fungal infection. It is a good home remedy to treat insect bite very well. Apply some tea tree oil over the insect bite and it will treat it and give relief from itching or pain.

3. Clove oil

Clove oil has anti-bacterial and anti microbial properties therefore the chances of infection can be minimized with using some clove oil over the insect bite.

4. Garlic

Garlic has anti-bacterial and antibiotic properties due to which rubbing a piece of garlic over the insect bite will heal the skin and treat the insect bite faster.

5. Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera gel has natural healing properties. Therefore, aloe vera will treat the insect bite quickly and also heals the area. It also soothes the skin which is irritated after the insect bite and gets red. Apply fresh aloe vera gel over the insect bite and leave it. Do this 2 times in a week. This is good for kids delicate skin.

6. Ice

Applying ice over the itching, painful skin areas will give instant relief. Try this 2-3 times in a day for quick relief. ice is a very easy to do insect bite treatment.

7. Baking soda

Applying a paste of baking soda with some water will also prove to be useful remedy for insect bite and to get relief from pain, itching, swelling and redness.

8. Toothpaste

Smear some toothpaste also helps a lot and toothpaste with its soothing ingredients will help to give cooling to the insect bite, burning and itching.
